BOLD CITY SCHOLARSHIPS
Congratulations to our 2026 Scholarship Winners!
We’re so pleased to recognize our 2026 scholarship winners Darien Tillman and Harmony Tuiasosopo-Lawrence. These outstanding students have a bold future ahead of them. We wish them the very best in their academic endeavors.
Harmony graduated from Balboa High School. She is active in in the Somoan Community Development Center (SCDC). Her career aim is to become a registered nurse, and her passion for nursing began through an internship at Highland Hospital. “Being in a healthcare environment allowed me to see firsthand the impact nurses have on patients and families every day,” she said. “I realized I want to be someone who helps people during their most difficult moments.” She’s headed to City College of San Francisco in the Fall.
Darien graduated from Phillip and Sala Burton Academics. He has served as senior deacon of his church since the age of 13 and has been active in San Francisco Achievers, where he is described as “the kind of leader who does not just speak, but listens, encourages, and makes sure everyone feels seen.” Darien’s passion is jazz music. “Jazz, as a genre, emphasizes creativity, individuality, and emotional expression,” he said. He looks forward to developing his musicianship — and helping others grow musically, as a teacher. He will be attending college in the Fall.
