Bold City Coffee Co. is a business-as-mission enterprise of Greater Life Church of San Francisco, whose focus is letting the beauty of its community be seen. We’re launching our first Bold City Coffee Café in the historically under-resourced neighborhood of Sunnydale/Visitacion Valley in San Francisco. A place we call home.
Mercy Housing has granted us the café space in their new mixed-use development at 1537 Sunnydale Ave. that will open this year! And we’re here to create a safe, welcoming gathering place for all – as well as new jobs, scholarships, and more. We will be the first café space in Sunnydale. Watch for news about our construction progress…. we’re opening later this year!

Your generous donation will make all the difference in the under-served Sunnydale neighborhood of San Francisco. We’re asking for your help to buy equipment and cover start-up costs to bring this vision to life:
✔️Equip Our Café
• $55K+ for equipment: espresso machine, commercial convection oven, grinders, refrigerators, freezers, display cases, furniture, and more.
✔️Offset Start-up Costs
• $35K+ for staff training and development, marketing, supplies and more that will get us off the ground and ensure a strong start for the café.
✔️Provide Jobs and Scholarships
• We’ll hire staff and award scholarships in our first year of cafe operation!

Pastor Sonya Brunswick
Senior Pastor, Greater Life Church, San Francisco
CEO, Bold City Coffee
Meet Pastor Sonya Brunswick, a proud San Francisco native, born and raised in Visitacion Valley. For over 35 years, she has poured her heart and soul into the ministry, and she’s been serving our community as the Senior Pastor of Greater Life Church since 2017. Her mission? To uplift, empower, and create lasting change for those who need it most.
Pastor Sonya doesn’t just preach about love and service—she lives it. She has partnered with countless community organizations to provide meals, groceries, job opportunities, and critical resources to under-resourced neighborhoods across San Francisco. As a community clergy member in Sunnydale/Viz Valley and a Chaplain with the San Francisco Police Department, she is always on the front lines, offering support, guidance, and hope. But she and her team can’t do it alone.
This fundraiser will help our CEO, Pastor Sonya, continue her life-changing work, expanding her outreach through this beautiful, and essential, addition to the Sunnydale/Viz Valley neighborhood: the Bold City Café.
In addition to her ministry, Pastor Sonya is a U.S. Air Force veteran and the founder of Brunswick Leadership Group, proving that service is truly at the core of everything she does.
Now, we have the chance to give back. Let’s rally around Pastor Sonya and show her that her community stands with her, just as she has always stood with us.
